Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) is
renowned as one of the oldest, most prestigious and selective universities
in China. Currently SJTU is a university with more than 20 colleges
and 34,000 students, half of which are graduate students, and over
3,000 faculty members. SJTU has gradually been evolving from a technology-oriented
university to a comprehensive research institution, with social
sciences and humanities developing rapidly over the past decades.
Over the past century, SJTU has educated more than 200,000 graduates,
who have spread across the world, including some world-famous names
such as China¡¯s former President Jiang Zemin, the former Mayor of
Shanghai Wang Daohan, and China¡¯s Father of Space Technology Qian
Xuesen. At present, the university has seven schools in humanities
and social science, including the School of International and Public
Affairs (SIPA), where the Israel Center will be located.
